Especially designed for Children,
this workshop is a chance for kids to get their hands dirty!
The monks will work directly with participants in creating an art form dating back 800 years!
While giving the kids a chance to interact with the Monks.
Everyone will be given a ball a dough, composed of barley flour and butter (margarine). Taking direction from a Monk, the kids will be able to shape the dough into various forms such as flowers, animals and auspicious traditional Tibetan symbols.
When finished these sculptures will be used to decorate an offering "cake." When the event is over, the children will be able to take home what they have created. The workshop will last between 60 and 90 minutes and is free.
Because the Monks are
on a humanitarian mission,
and
though not obligatory,
donations are accepted.
