This workshop is a chance for kids
(and grown-ups)
to get their hands dirty!
The monks will work directly with participants in creating
an art form dating back 800 years
while giving the kids a chance to interact directly with the Monks.
Everyone will make a ball a dough, composed of barley flour.
This will then
be shaped into an "offering cake."
Then, taking direction from a Monk, the
kids will shape butter into various forms such as flowers and auspicious
traditional
Tibetan symbols to attach to the "cake."
When the event is over, the children (and adults) will be able to take
home what they have created.
The
workshop will last about 60 minutes.
